Location: Angell Hall 3154
The Visual Culture Workshop invites you to a panel discussion entitled "How We Read Images" on Friday, Oct. 31, from 11-1, in Angell Hall 3154.
What counts as an image in different disciplinary contexts and research projects? How do strategies for reading images evolve in such contexts? What use do scholars make of images to raise provocative questions about culture, history, power, and everyday practices? All are invited to join our panelists, Professor David Doris (History of Art/Center for AfroAmerican and African Studies), Zeynep Gursel (Postdoctoral Fellow, Anthropology), Professor Joshua Miller (Department of English), and Professor Alex Stern (American Culture/Obstetrics & Gynecology/History of Medicine) for an informal conversation.
Lunch will be served for those who RSVP by October 25th to berkleya@umich.edu.
Please join us for a lively discussion!
