Winterfest 2007, scheduled from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, January 23 in the Michigan Union, is a fun-filled organizational fair, bringing together, in one place, more than 150 student orgs and University departments. This event, the little sibling to our fall extravaganza, Festifall, allows organizations a mid-year opportunity to recruit, advertise, re-connect (and eat free food!) all in the warmth of the Union in January! Free Subway sandwiches, popcorn, cotton candy, performances, billiards, and more!
Location: South Quad Basement
The Honors RAs and Washtenaw Area Model Mugging instructors will be presenting a FREE self-defense seminar.
Stop by to grab some food and learn basic techniques to protect yourself.
If you are interested in attending please e-mail Kathryn Spica.
Location: Michigan Union-U Club
Weekly tournaments start promptly at 8:00PM. Arrive no later than 7:55. The tournament usually finishes around 10:30PM. This is an individual competition, so bring a friend if you like, but you will have a different playing partner each round (randomly determined). Open to U of M students only. Faculty and staff may participate but are not eligible for prizes.
Every week, someone goes home with $20 in Munchie Money, good as cash at any Michigan Union or Michigan League food establishment. Because of state gaming laws, we can not award a prize to any player based on how they perform (i.e., we can't award a prize to the winner), so a name will be drawn at random every week during the final round, and that person goes home with the Munchie Money.
Location: Pizza House-Upstairs
Join us at Pizza House on Church St. this Tuesday night at 8:30 to watch the President's State of the Union address. Tell them you're with the College Republican's, and they should direct you to the upstairs room. There will be free pizza, and plenty of room, so please come by! Feel free to bring a friend! Please RSVP so we have an idea of how many to plan for!
